Configuration properties, also called zProperties, define various settings for a device. They are inherited from a device's Device Class hierarchy, and are essentially a bunch of configuration settings, each with a name and a value. In addition to being inherited from a Device Class, they can also be set on a per-device basis. They are commonly used to store authentication settings for modeling (discovery) and monitoring.
- To set a Configuration property for a specific device
- ...Go to Infrastructure Tab, click on the Device Name, and select Configuration Properties on the left-hand pane.
- To set a Configuration property for a device class (inherited by all child devices and Device Classes)
- ...Go to Infrastructure Tab, select the Device Class in the left pane and click the Details arrow. Then select Configuration Properties on the left-hand pane.
