Background

This ZenPack includes functionality to model and monitor several types of device components for devices placed in the /Server/SSH/Linux device class by running commands and parsing the output. Parsing of command output is performed on the Zenoss server. The account used to monitor the device does not require root access or special privileges.

Troubleshooting

Check the following:

  • Correct class (/Server/SSH/Linux)
  • Valid login information (Note: Issues have been reported passing passwords that contain ! and ~)
  • sshd running on target
  • Correctly configured iptables/ip6tables
  • Targets reachable from Zenoss instance (should one have a highly segmented network)
